Accra, Ghana - On June 10, 2023, Mr. Hayford Siaw, CEO of Ghana Library Authority was recognized for his incredible journey to propel Ghana to receive global recognition for its efforts in the library and books global ecosystem. This recognition came during the Obaasima Summit 2023, held at the National Theatre under the theme, "The Future Can Be Different."

During the summit, Mr. Siaw shared the story of the organization's investment and growth in the network of public libraries, increasing the number of books on the shelves, as well as the introduction of various technology tools and programs to connect citizens to knowledge resources.

The organization's efforts have resulted in Accra being declared as the World Book Capital, and the Ghana Library Authority was honored with the Library of the Year 2021 and the UN Public Services awards 2021 for being one of the ten most innovative public institutions.

He expressed gratitude for being recognized as a change maker in their space of work by the Obaasima Summit 2023 organizers, and congratulated them for organizing such a fantastic event.
